Support Recent Anti-Fascist Prisoners After KKK Counter-Action

The KKK has decided to come out of the woodwork in response to the groundswell against the Confederate flag and other celebrations of the antebellum South.  After Dylan Roof’s genocidal rage was let loose in Charleston, South Carolina, the Ku Klux Klan and National Socialist Movement came from out-of-state to rally in Columbia, South Carolina on July 18th.  During this action several anti-fascist organizers were arrested and charged with criminal penalties, and the media and state coverage has smeared them as “troublemakers.”

We are calling for support for anti-fascist prisoners of this action, including Stephen Loughman who is being supported by the The Defend Steve Support Committee.

A second counter-protester, Eddien Patterson, was also targeted by the police with a second degree felony assault charge and misdemeanor battery charge.  This is an outrageous over-reach by law enforcement, where Eddien seems to be getting “special treatment” because he is a man of color who dared to stand up to the Klan.  He was on probation at the time of the arrest and is now serving a ten-month sentence for a probation violation, and needs our support right now!

From the group supporting Eddien:

Currently we are trying to find a lawyer for Eddien, but he has requested that money be added to his books and desires to receive letters.
